Some of the people with ties to Walnut Creek who passed away recently

Saundra Longcor Isaacson, a former resident of Walnut Creek, was born in Fresno. She graduated from Fresno State University and moved 29 times in her adult life due to her husband's responsibilities with Bechtel Corp. In 1994, she received a PRIDE award from the city of Walnut Creek for her work in educating the community on the dangers of substance abuse. Isaacson died on Dec. 20 at the age of 71.

Betty Suen, a former resident of Walnut Creek, was born in San Francisco. She attended Cogswell College. She worked for the Dean Witter brokerage firm as well as a bookkeeper for stores, banks and the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, which she retired from in 1979. Suen moved to Walnut Creek with her husband in 1967. She lived in the city until 2005. Suen died on Dec. 9 at the age of 90.
