Allan L. Anderson, a resident of Walnut Creek, graduated from University High School in Oakland. He served two years in the U.S. Army and then earned a business degree from U.C. Berkeley. He was the owner of The Curtain Shop. He was an enthusiastic sports fan who participated in senior bowling leagues. He was also a member of SIRS Branch 19. Anderson died Dec. 12 at the age of 85.
Charles John Coyle, a resident of Walnut Creek, was born in Chicago. He and his wife moved to California in 1952. He worked as a civics and history teacher as well as a counselor at Oak Grove Intermediate School in Concord. Coyle died Dec. 9 at the age of 85.
Colleen Goodson, a former longtime resident of Walnut Creek, grew up in North Dakota. She attended the University of North Dakota and was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. She moved to California and taught at an elementary school in Tracy as well as a physical education teacher at Tracy High School. She then taught for 36 years in the Pittsburg Unified School District. Goodson died Dec. 6 at the age of 81.
