People with ties to Walnut Creek who have passed away recently

Lawrence Fredrick Benson, a resident of Walnut Creek for more than 60 years, was born in Minnesota. He graduated from Las Lomas High School in 1958. He and his two brothers formed Benson Brothers Trucking as well as Benson Brothers Grading and Paving. He also had a successful real estate career. Benson died Nov. 11 at the age of 73.

Clara Joyce Himes, a resident of Walnut Creek, was born in Southern California. She graduated from Richmond High School and earned a home economics degree from U.C. Santa Barbara. She was married for 70 years to her husband, Sam. She was an active member of the Lafayette chapter of PEO. Himes died on Nov. 12 at the age of 90.

Floyd Moss, a resident of Walnut Creek, was born in Oklahoma. He served on the U.S.S. Hornet in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He earned a degree in fine arts at the University of Oklahoma. He owned Diehl's Interiors in Richmond. Moss died Nov. 12 at the age of 88.

Elizabeth May (Edwards) Seeley, a resident of Walnut Creek, was born in Southern California. During World War II, she worked at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach. She moved with her husband and four children to Walnut Creek in 1962. Seeley died on Nov. 6 at the age of 90.
