Hi Jessica: It's suggested that a child be photographed five times in the first year of life: at newborn (if possible within the first 6 days), 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 1 year! Most photographers offer specials for this sort of package. A baby changes so much in that first year and the milestones are worth recording. After that, every 6 months to a year up to age five. After age five- every one to 3 years up to age 15 and then every five years after that. I find that teenagers are tough to convince but every stage is worth recording. Before you know it, theyve grown out of one stage and are on to the next! Images by Ngaire (Naree)

I love digital photography but was raised on the regular film cameras, and still have several that I absolutely love. The problem is ....... where do you get something like 127 Ektachrome slides processed ?

Great question! I have always taken all of my film to Colormaster in Ottumwa. I have not found a place here in the Des Moines (yet, that is), that processes everything. Perhaps Christian Photo in Urbandale? This is the link to Colormaster: http://www.colormaster.net/Film%20Printing.html They should be able to help you out. Good luck! It's great to know that more people are out there still shooting film and keeping the craft alive! Thanks, Brandon Stone - GrayLight Photography

Yeah, I bet if Christian Photo doesnt print film, they might know who does. Good luck! I miss film sometimes!

I'm just beginning a photography business and have been doing lots of baby photo shoots. When the weather was warm we just did them outside. Now I am in search of a cool indoor location that would be free for me to set up in for a photo shoot. Any ideas for a place in the Cedar Rapids/north liberty/Iowa city area during December?
