JESUS REYES of Wells Fargo Bank N. Main St. personally verified a cashiers check I brought in to him. I gave him the cashiers check to be sure it was good, he left to make a phone call and returned telling me it was fine. He took me up to the cashier counter to get the cash. He told the cashier that the check was fine and entered in his personal code onto the computer during the transaction. The cashier gave me the cash. 1 week later.... my account is overdrawn $1,900+ from a bounced counterfeit cashiers check and fees. I hurry in to see J. Reyes and he tells me that he is sorry and that he will most likely lose his job for this. HE CONFESSED HE NEVER ACTUALLY CONFIRMED THE CHECK WAS GOOD... HE JUST CALLED THE PHONE NUMBER ON THE CHECK AND WHEN THEY ANSWERED WITH THE CORRECT CREDIT UNION NAME THAT THE CHECK WAS DRAWN ON, HE DID NOTHING MORE. HE DID NOT VERIFY THE CHECK AT ALL!. Wells Fargo has frozen all my accounts, refusing to let me access direct deposited payroll funds. JESUS REYES' FAILURE TO ACTUALLY VERIFY THE CHECK HAS NOW LEFT ME OWING THE BANK!. I feel that the blame is on REYES ! IF HE HAD ACTUALLY TRULY VERIFIED THE CHECK LIKE HE SAID HE DID, WE WOULD HAVE KNOWN IMMEDIATELY THAT THE CHECK WAS BAD AND NO MONEY WOULD HAVE BEEN WITHDRAWN! I have made reports regarding the fraudulent check to the proper places and am still waiting for Wells Fargo to contact me regarding this issue. I GO TO THE BANK TO HAVE CHECKS AND SUCH VERIFIED BECAUSE I TRUST THEM TO KNOW. I COUNTED ON JESUS REYES !! I COUNTED ON MY BANK. AFTER ALL, WHEN YOU GET A CASHIERS CHECK OR A MONEY ORDER AND YOU NEED TO BE SURE THEY ARE GOOD, WHERE ELSE ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO GO?
