Spend, spend, spend!!

When I hear about money shortages in Walnut Creek's bank account I can't help but wonder why we have to keep spending on so many things. Why not concentrate on the maintaining the infrastructure instead of looking for more ways to spend, like the library for instance? I wonder if we might have saved some $$
making it a bit more modest?
Any one with any foresight would realize that it makes
good sense to save money for a rainy day; my mother always told me that! I wonder if a good portion of the city council's mothers tried to instill that idea in them?
Folks, we still can vote for people that desire to serve rather than lord over the residents of our city-although we do have a few that seem to share this philosophy, thankfully!
I sure hope they leave the equestrian center alone as it is one delightful place to feel that "country" kind of feeling.
Oh dear, no we really must destroy this area and put basketball courts in it's place! It does not matter that there are courts in the schools, right? Spend more $$ and ruin a lovely place.
Walnut Creek is becoming less attractive and I have been here since 1964.

There are basketball courts at every elementary, middle and high school and basketball stand alone hoops on most residential streets. I agree, IMHO the Equestrian Center is the true jewel of Walnut Creek.

Please tell us more about this basketball court plan. I haven't heard about it. I know that the plan that was floated to replace the swimming pools involved taking over the existing basketball courts but I thought that plan was dead. This is a very good place to bring up issues like this. Keep reading and posting. Don't worry, the powers that be do pay attention to this site.

WC did a survey. Traffic was the biggest complaint. Hundreds of new apartments are being built and in the pipeline to add traffic. Overbuilt library causing financial problems for years and years ahead. I like the common sense comment: Save for a Rainy Day. Is our city council working for the betterment of the city? Look at the deficit. Look at their use of our limited land.

Lin S, similar results from several different surveys over several years have been reported. Thank you for recognizing there is an issue. We don't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.

We are being told that since the Dog Park took over the place where 'they' had planned the basketball courts, the courts would move to the Equestrian Center. (See Master Plan map) Don't know who 'planned' all this. Never heard any input from Walnut Creek citizens.
