Another Robbery at Boulevard Way's 7-Eleven, Third Robbery in this Area in About a Month

Wednesday morning's holdup is the third recent robbery or attempted robbery along this commercial stretch in the Saranap neighborhood.

Contra Costa Sheriff's investigators are looking for two men, one armed with a gun, who held up the 7-Eleven in Walnut Creek's Saranap neighborhood early Wednesday.

Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said the robbers came into the convenience store at about 2:15 a.m.  The second robber was holding pepper spray. The store was robbed but the clerk was not injured.

Sheriff's deputies, Walnut Creek police and California Highway Patrol officers, and a CHP helicopter searched for the robbers but were not able to find them.

This is the second robbery at this 7-Eleven and the third robbery along this stretch of Boulevard Way in a little over a month. This commercial stretch of Boulevard Way is surrounded by apartments and homes in the Saranap neighborhood and is close to downtown Walnut Creek and the entrance and exit to Highway 24.

Lee said investigators don't believe that Wednesday morning's robbery is connected to an attempted holdup on June 21. In that case, a night clerk frightened off a gunman and two other robbers by threatening to toss a plastic doughnut delivery tray at him.

More recently, on the afternoon of Saturday, July 10, a man robbed three women inside one of the hair salons along Boulevard Way. That robber was armed with a gun and pointed it at the three women, then made off with money and other items.
