BART Will Close Tracks Between Lafayette and Pleasant Hill Stations On Wednesday Afternoon

The closure is being done so NTSB authorities can conduct an investigation into the accident that killed two workers on Saturday

The BART tracks between the Lafayette and Pleasant Hill stations will be closed from noon to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday while National Transportation Safety Board authorities conduct an investigation into Saturday's fatal accident.

BART will operate a bus bridge for customers at the Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and Lafayette stations during those hours.

The buses will also pick up passengers who are forced to exit at Pleasant Hill and Lafayette.

The buses will be coordinated to meet trains that are arriving every 15 minutes at other stations.

NTSB authorities have said they want to inspect the tracks as well as re-create the scene surrounding Saturday's accident in which two BART workers were killed when a train operated by a manager in training struck them.
