Brush Fire at Rossmoor Contained

Two acres were burned in the late morning fire.

A one-alarm vegetation fire that burned near Rossmoor this morning was been contained around 10 a.m., according to the Contra Costa Consolidated Fire Protection District.

A blown transformer is believed to have sparked the blaze, according to the fire district's Twitter page.

The fire was first reported at 9:05 a.m. near the Stanley Dollar Clubhouse on Stanley Dollar Drive, according to a fire dispatcher.

The blaze was contained at about 10 a.m. after it had charred roughly two acres. No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

The dispatcher said the fire was burning on a steep slope and was initially difficult for crews to reach.
