Burglary Suspect Arrested After Chase

Antioch man is captured after authorities say he drove into a Concord neighborhood

An Antioch man was arrested after police say he tried to burglarize a Walnut Creek home and then drove into a Concord neighborhood to hide.

Keith Buchanan, 36, was arrested by a Walnut Creek police sergeant. He was booked on charges of residential burglary, evading a police officer and parole violations.

He is in custody on $170,000 bail.

Police say Buchanan was spotted breaking into a home on Mi Elena Circle about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers said the suspect drove off in a white Honda Civic. The car traveled at a high rate of speed along Oak Grove Road and then eastbound Ygnacio Valley Road.

The pursuit was called off for safety reasons, but Concord police spotted the vehicle on Green Meadow Drive. Residents told officers they saw a man hopping over fences in their neighborhood.

Buchanan was apprehended a short time later.

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
