Car, Bike Rider Collide at Downtown Intersection

Cyclist ejected, suffers shoulder injury at Vallejo & Redwood.

A 28-year-old Novato man suffered a shoulder injury Friday afternoon in a collision with a car at a downtown intersection, said.

The bicyclist was traveling east across Redwood Boulevard at Vallejo Avenue at about 1:15 p.m. and rode in front of a Honda Civic that was
traveling north on Redwood Boulevard, Lt. Keith Heiden said. The bike rider struck the windshield of the Honda, driven by a 34-year-old
Rohnert Park woman, Heiden said.

The bicyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected. He was
taken to Novato Community Hospital by paramedics, Heiden said.

Police did not release the names of the driver or bicyclist. The
incident is under investigation.

How about had his ass knocked to the ground

Another biker riding in a cloak of invincibility. Probably deserved getting hit, as bike riders ignore the rules of the road and act as if they are impervious to physics. And don't' forget arrogance. They pay no license fees, pay no registration fees, pay no fuel tax, pay no permit fees, and they demand everything.

Hey Ed, I ride everyday in Novato, I stop at signs and lights and I signal my intent so drivers can see what I'm doing. I also have two cars and pay license and registration fees on both, I pay fuel tax, and I pay for whatever permits you might be thinking about. All I demand is that you don hit me when I'm on my bike. Not all bikers are arrogant and not all drivers follow the rules of the road. Most of us have both bikes and cars and aren't getting some fabled free ride.

Hey BLT - Most bike riders are low body-fat arrogant twits, You' 're the exception, and congratulations! Still, you pay NO license fee, NO registration fee, NO permit fee for your bike. The Marin County Bike Brigade wants us all to support them, and refuses to pay into the pot. Again, you're the exception, and I'm glad to hear it.
