Coliseum Event: A Noisy Night for Alameda

Beyond Wonderland, an event produced by Insomniac, caused considerable insomnia for local residents.

Beyond Wonderland Bay Area, an event on the Oakland Coliseum grounds that featured three outdoor music areas, drew multiple noise complaints from Alameda residents Saturday night and showed no signs of abating until the event ended at 2 a.m.

Oakland police said they had received many complaints from Alameda and San Leandro residents. Callers described the the noise as "the loudest it's ever been" for a Coliseum event, an Oakland Police Department spokesman said.

The event was produced by Insomniac Inc., which had a permit for the event, police said.

A Beyond Wonderland after-party was scheduled to begain at 9 p.m. at Ruby Skye, a club in San Francisco.

It is not put on by Insomniac. It is called Spookfest and it will be held inside the Oracle Arena on October 26th. Events such as Spookfest have happened inside the Oracle Arena many times before (ETD Pop for example), so if you weren't disturbed by any noise during them then this event should also be fine.

No, it's because you're a rude, arrogant, insensitive, arse.

Not for me. I'm not old and I know a few high schoolers on the island that were annoyed by it too so I don't think age is necessarily a factor here. Looking at your name I'm disappointed you would be so discriminatory.
