Creek Diva: 3 Hit-and-Runs & Burglars A-Plenty

Walnut Creek police reports from Nov. 20 to Nov. 24.

Sunday, November 20

Chill. A hot tub party on the 1800 block of Trinity Avenue was told to shut down at 2:07 a.m.

Purse pilfered. An unattended purse went missing at a party on the 800 block of Ygnacio Valley Road. $363 was reported stolen.

Wallet recovered. Kudos fine citizen who found a lost wallet on Crosby Court! The owner was contacted and was able to retrieve the lost item.

Shadelands burglary. An office on the 300 block of Wiget Lane was burglarized overnight. An office window was shattered and a laptop was stolen. Readers, have you noticed a spike in break-ins in the Shadelands?

Ouch. An ice skater injured her foot and ankle while enjoying the ice skating rink at Civic Park. She was transported to John Muir Medical Center.

Monday, November 21

Domestic violence. A husband was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence at a residence on the 1800 block of Trinity Avenue shortly after midnight.  With the holidays comes a rise in domestic violence; if you or someone you know is a victim please read more.

Copper stolen. Copper wires were stolen from a construction site on the 2200 block of Larkey Lane.

What’s going on around town? Three hit and runs were reported within an hour! Creek Diva would like to remind everyone to slow down during this busy holiday time.

Tuesday, November 22

Aggression. A caller reported an aggressive panhandler with a child in front of an ATM at Countrywood Shopping Center at 4:08 p.m. 

Busted. A man was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of burglary tools and theft after a quick thinking Target employee recognized him. Allegedly the thief used a knife to remove security sensors from packing.

Wednesday, November 23

Computer stolen. A computer monitor and keyboard were reported stolen from the Mormon Church on North Gate Road.

Shoes stolen. Two females grabbed several pairs of shoes at a store at Broadway Plaza and fled in a 1980s Oldsmobile at 1:48 p.m.

IPad missing. An iPad was accidentally left in a shopping cart on the 1300 block of Newell Avenue and was reported missing at 3:40 p.m.

Thursday, November 24

Busy Thanksgiving. The WCPD sure was busy with five arrests made for public intoxication. A man was cited for urinating in public.

Old grenade. A inactive WWI-era grenade was found in a shoebox by a resident on the 2800 block of Bowling Green Drive at 11:41 p.m.

A record? A routine traffic stop on North Main and Cypress resulted in a vehicle being towed for 47 toll violations.
