Creek Diva: A Bold Underage Drinker & A Drunk in a Tree

Walnut Creek police reports from May 11 to May 14.


Friday, May 11

Ouch. A bicyclist was injured when he lost control of his bike and slammed into a telephone pole on 700 block of Ygnacio Valley Road at 10:59a.m. Get well!

Beer run. A convenience store clerk refused to sell beer to an underage customer on the 300 block of North Civic Drive at 3:04 p.m. The unknown customer left $20 and still took the beer.

Double parking. Please do not double-park on Main Street if you are dropping off or picking up a student who attends the ballet school. Thanks!

Lock your bikes, kids. Two 23-inch Jamis kids bicycles were stolen from the bike racks at Valley Verde Elementary School.

Saturday, May 12

Jamaican me crazy! A caller reported that a Jamaican telemarketer offered to come to her house to trade a $300 Green Dot debit card in exchange for two million dollars.

Electronics. $7,000 worth of electronics was stolen from a storage locker on the 2600 block of North Main Street.

Lock ‘em up. There have been several reports of bike thefts in Walnut Creek.  Please be advised to lock your bikes wherever you store them. Creek Diva double-locks hers and isn’t taking any chances.

Havana vs. 1515? A caller wanted employees of Havana warned for trespassing onto the 1515 North Main Street back parking lot at 10:34p.m.

Sunday, May 13

A Creek Diva first. A drunken man was told to take a taxi home after he was hanging out in a tree at Broadway Plaza after midnight.

Smash and major grab! A 6-inch boulder was used to smash a storefront window on the 1800 block of Ygnacio Valley Road overnight. A $2,000 bicycle was stolen at 5:02 a.m.

Slashers. Heads up, Countrywood Court residents. Several reports of slashed tires have been reported.

Monday, May 14

Stolen purse. A purse, including cash and a wallet, were reported stolen from the trunk of a car on the 300 block of San Carlos Drive. Moral of the story, not even your trunk is a safe place to leave your valuables.

Temporarily unlicensed? A license plate, 5ZUK063, was found in the middle of the street on N. Broadway and Lincoln. If it’s yours, you may pick it up at the police station.
