Creek Diva: A Hot Watch, Funny Money & A Hot Ukulele

Walnut Creek police reports from March 13 to March 16

Tuesday, March 13

Late-night fight. Two women went on their separate ways after police broke up a fight between the two on the 1800 block of San Miguel Drive at 1:51 a.m.

Why are you so mad? A neighbor on Whitecliff Court was given advice from police after another neighbor complained to police about him “screaming obscenities” at juveniles at 10:44 a.m.

Better late than never. A citizen found a possibly pricy watch at the Heather Farm parking lot back in September and now reported it to police.

Cable lines cut, again. A business owner on the 600 block of Ygnacio Valley Road reported phone and television lines cut in front of his office at 4:37 p.m. This is the fourth incident in eight months at that location, totaling nearly $1,500 worth of damages.

Round of applause! A citizen found a wallet at CineArts Theater in Pleasant Hill and turned it over to the WCPD for the owner to pick up.

Wednesday, March 14

DMV blockage. Car vs. truck accident was reported blocking a lane in front of — of all places — the DMV on North Broadway at 8:34 a.m. Readers, who else thinks the intersection at North Broadway and Arroyo Way is a little dicey?

Lost ring! A missing wedding ring was reported near the 1300 block of Main Street at 2:00 p.m.

Volvo rifled. A gold Volvo SW was broken into on the 1600 block of N. Main Street, the same block as the police station at 9:10 p.m. to 9:55 p.m. A guitar and ukulele were reported stolen.

Thursday, March 15

Spousal abuse. WCPD arrested a man on spousal abuse charges on Arroyo Way at 12:39a.m.

IPad left behind. A woman reported that she left her iPad on the second floor of the downtown library on 3/14.

Counterfeit. The Secret Service was called to Broadway Plaza after two women allegedly passed counterfeit bills at a store this afternoon.

Disturbing. A Foothill Middle School student posted a photo of him with a pellet gun pointed to his head on Facebook. The police contacted the parents of the student in question.

Stranger danger. Police investigated incidents in which a man in his sixties made unwelcome advances to a 13-year-old Walnut Creek Intermediate student.

Solicitor arrested. A man was arrested on various warrants and cited for soliciting without a permit. He became angry and attempted to enter a home on the 3600 block of Mahogany Court at 4:24 p.m.

More bad soliciting news! A woman gave a $20 check for a donation towards MFA Magazine when the resident of Everidge Court noticed the check was cashed for $200. The crime occurred on March 6 and is under investigation.

Friday, March 16

Dope. Bronco students, your neighbor reported you to the police about allegedly smoking dope before school on Sutton Drive near Annadale Court. Are you getting high to try to imagine windows at Northgate or just being curious teenagers? Either way, don’t be stupid and be careful.

Tires slashed. A car dealership on the 2700 block of N. Main Street reported several tires being slashed overnight.

Honda stolen. A Chase Bank employee had his car stolen in the parking lot on 2/27. The car is a silver Honda CR-V, license plate 4CDB660. Hoping for a good ending!
