Creek Diva: A Plague of Thievery: Laptops, Pants, Appliances, Gas

Walnut Creek police reports from Sept. 17 to Sept. 21, including a return to the scene of the 'True Religion' crime.

Monday, September 17

Appliances stolen. A vacant home on El Paseo Circle was burglarized sometime over the weekend. A refrigerator, cooktop, washer, and dryer were stolen, according to a report by the Walnut Creek police.

Misplaced iPad. An iPad was accidentally left in the John Muir Medical Center main admitting area at 1:50 p.m. Hope you found it!

Tuesday, September 18

Gas theft. Gas theft attempt occurred to a vehicle that was parked on Brightwood Court overnight. An unknown subject poked a hole in the gas line.

Not fraud, just a generous gift. A man contacted police about possible fraudulent activity on his father’s bank account. Turns out it wasn’t fraud, —the father gifted $44,000 to several of his caretakers.

Wednesday, September 19

Heads up. Walnut Knolls- and San Miguel-area residents, there have been several home break-ins in your neighborhood lately, including a break-in on Santa Rita on the 17th and another on Andrea Drive this morning. Several Apple laptops, iPad, and other valuables were stolen. Lock all your doors.

Returning to the scene. A woman allegedly stole a pair of True Religion jeans at Neiman Marcus, put them in her car, then went back in the store. She was arrested on theft and warrant charges. Her friend who was with her was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Thursday, September 20

Laptop stolen. A black Lenovo laptop valued at $2,000 was stolen from an office on the 1600 block of N. California Blvd around noon. Security will review surveillance video.

Stolen phone. A Las Lomas student was arrested for petty theft when the school counselor's phone went missing. The student was found to be in possession of the phone.

Friday, September 21
