Monday, July 16

Four computers stolen. A business on the 1900 block of North Broadway was burglarized over the weekend via a rear door. Four Mac computers were stolen, according to Walnut Creek police reports.

Locked bikes stolen. Two locked bicycles were stolen, a grey/green Schwinn and black/pink Diamondback on the 1300 block of Alma Avenue. Folks, please use a secure U-lock style bicycle lock to secure your property.


Texting, weaving, running. To the driver of the red Hyundai Santa Fe, you were seen texting, weaving in and out of lanes, and running a red light on Ygnacio and North Main at 12:56. Hang up, pay attention and slow down. Thank you.

Tuesday, July 17

Bad driver, part 2. To the driver of the A&J Fencing truck: Please do not drive recklessly. Do you know you almost hit a few cars on Ygnacio Valley Road around 11 a.m., according to a report by the Walnut Creek police? Not cool.

Plaza break-in. A vehicle was broken into at Broadway Plaza this afternoon. Please take all your valuables with you, folks!

Wednesday, July 18

Pull your pants up, lady! A woman was seen “pulling her pants down and screaming” in front of the new Blow Bar on North California Blvd at 8:47 a.m.

Crystal meth find. A call reported finding a black container on Geary and Pioneer Avenue at 12:28 p.m. Inside the container, a large magnet, air fresheners, and 79 grams of crystal meth on Geary and Pioneer at 12:29p.m.

Sour notes? A musician who was playing the electric guitar in front of Barnes and Noble was told vacate this afternoon. The man left without argument.

“Class of 2012” tagger is back. This time, a business owner on the 1900 block of Tice Valley Boulevard reported the graffiti. Creek Diva saw that awful tag behind Safeway on the Iron Horse Trail recently.

Thursday, July 19

Rock thrower. Homes on Parkland Drive, Hall Lane and Huston Road reported an unknown subject throwing rocks at large windows of all three homes at 12:24 a.m. – 12:35 a.m.

DUI charge. A woman caused significant damage to a pole and several cars on Cortez Court and Tampico at 5 p.m. She was arrested on DUI and hit and run charges, after another neighbor witnessed her driving on the sidewalk.

Watch for red light runners .. look both ways before entering an intersection on a green (give it an extra couple of seconds, too). WC PD ... here's plenty of revenue for you. Any chance of getting red light cameras in WC?

The trails I saw at you tube, while bigger than vapor trails, were still very puny compared to theRead More banner cloud formations I saw this, banners stretching straight from East to West (or vice versa) from one horizon to the other. May guess is that they were over 500 feet wide, and I'm still inclined to think the straight-line winds that made the derecho in the East pushed backwards a straight banner of visible water vapor (ie, clouds). Compare the physics to the x-rays that are pushed backwards when matter is sucked into the spiral of a black hole, a new discovery this week.

This is the beauty of a filmic conversation. There is really no right or wrong. It is highly subjective. Even Rotten Tomatoes sometimes do not agree with Top Critics from around the world.
