Creek Diva: Barefoot in the Pond & Dense Return of Stolen Merchandise

Walnut Creek police reports from Jan. 27 to Jan. 30

Friday, January 27

Key loss. A set of keys was found near Petticoat Lane and Botelho. They are at the police station for safekeeping.

House break-in. A home on Ross Place was broken into between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and noon. A MacBook laptop and jewelry were stolen.

Dense criminal. A man was arrested after he was attempting to return stolen merchandise he purchased with fraudulent checks at a store on 1600 block of Mt. Diablo Boulevard, police reported.

Purse stolen. A woman had a purse valued at $1,700 stolen from a bench she was sitting on at Broadway Plaza. The suspect is a white male, age 18-20 years, who got into a silver Toyota Camry. An investigation is underway.

Stay out of the creek. Police received a report of a group in the flood control basin near Citrus Avenue at 5:45 p.m. They were not located upon officer arrival.

Saturday, January 28

Dry ice. Three dry-ice bombs were reported exploding by a home on the 300 block of Dogwood Drive at 12:11 a.m. The WCPD Bomb Squad handled a fourth bomb.

Barefoot in the pond. A woman was arrested on charges of public intoxication after she was seen in a landscaping pond on the 1400 block of Creekside Drive.

Gym locker. An iPod touch and wallet went missing out of a locked locker at 24 Hour Fitness on the 2000 block of North Main Street between the hours of 7:30 and 9:30 a.m.

Sunday, January 29

Downtown. Nine people were arrested after three separate fights broke out on Locust Street.

Library trespass. The downtown library trespasser was arrested again at 4:39 a.m.

Stolen computers. Marble Bridge Funding on Maria Lane was broken into via a smashed front window overnight. Three Dell computer towers were reported stolen.

Monday, January 30

Oil spill. An oil spill occurred at a parking lot on Lennon Lane at 11:54 a.m. A cleanup crew arrived shortly after to help.
