Walnut Creek police reports Jan. 31 to Feb. 3

Tuesday, January 31

Assaulting an officer. A mother reported that her son was throwing things and yelling on Olmo Way at 12:44 a.m. The man was arrested on charges of assaulting a police officer.

Trunk junked. Leaving valuables in the trunk is not safe. Two laptops went missing out of vehicles the 2300 block of Buena Vista Avenue at 8:03 a.m. For one of the cars, the trunk was broken into. Readers, take all your valuables with you!

Man allegedly struck wife. A report was made that a man hit his wife in the nose. When police arrived on the 400 block of North Civic Drive, the alleged victim said, “the argument was only verbal” and “did not want anything done.” If you or someone you love is a victim of domestic violence, please call Stand, 1-888-215-5555.

Wednesday, February 1

Boiling mad! A residential apartment manager on the 1400 block of Creekside Drive reported that a transient had been squatting in the boiler room. The unwanted guest had also allegedly turned off the boiler when it got “too hot” in the room. Officers gave advice.

Pricy mountain bike stolen. A orange, white, and black Specialized Epic mountain bike valued at $4,500 was reported stolen on the 1600 block of North California Boulevard at 2:47 p.m.

Dine 'n dash. Three juveniles dined and dashed at Mel’s Diner at 5:15 p.m. One suspect was booked and released to his mother.

Fleeing on canal trail. A business on the 300 block of Wiget Lane was broken into. Two subjects fled on foot and were seen with flashlights headed towards the canal trail. Laptops, keyboards and briefcases were reported stolen. An investigation is underway.

Thursday, February 2

Courtesy ride. An intoxicated man “fell onto his face while walking off the curb” near Ygnacio Valley Road and Walnut Blvd. The man was given a courtesy ride to his home that was two blocks away at 2:21 a.m.

Yes, again. The downtown library trespasser was arrested at 7:36 a.m.

Craft crime. A homemade Battleship game was reported stolen out of an unlocked car on the 500 block of North Civic Drive overnight.

Friday, February 3

Forgetful. A man forgot that he parked his car at Walnut Creek BART and accidentally reported it stolen.

Heads up, Sierra Drive residents. Several vehicle break-ins have occurred on your street recently.

Speaking of security — don’t do this! A woman reported that her spare key that was hidden under the doormat was missing on Masters Court at 5:25p.m.
The WCPD were out in full force, arresting several subjects on charges of public intoxication and DUI. Creek Diva is all for having fun, but be safe, have a designated driver or take a cab!
