Creek Diva: Burned Christmas Trees And A Stolen Canoe

Walnut Creek reports from Jan. 10 to Jan. 12.

Tuesday, January 10

Heads up, Pomar Way residents. A car was recently broken into in your neighborhood. A right-side door of a Saturn S2 was pried open but thankfully nothing was taken.

Credit card fraud. A credit card was duplicated and used at several businesses in town. $3,000 worth of charges was made at Spitz Jewelry on Main Street. Did you know you could file online police reports for crimes such as this?

Pot on stove. A small apartment fire on the 1300 block of Montego occurred at 10:58 a.m. after a pot was accidentally left on a stove.

Kudos. To the citizen who found a boys bike on private property and turned it over to the police. Hoping for a happy reunion story soon.

Wednesday, January 11

Disgusting. And perhaps another reason to take the stairs. A caller reported that all the elevator buttons had been “smeared with feces” near the Cost Plus parking garage on Mount Diablo Boulevard at 12:53 a.m.

Tree fire. Several Christmas trees were reportedly on fire on the sidewalk at Lincoln and Mt. Pisgah Road at 3:19 p.m.

Fire complaint. A caller on Harmony Lane reported that one of the neighbors was burning a fire and were in violation of the regional Spare the Air Day. The anonymous caller was informed how to file the complaint online.

Thursday, January 12

Stolen Honda. A brown ‘88 Honda Civic, license plate 6FID305, was stolen from 1435 Creekside Dr. between Jan. 10 and Jan. 12.

Stolen canoe. A member of the Lakewood Club reported her green Pelican canoe was stolen from the lake sometime in the past several months.

Coins stolen. Gold and silver coins valued at $75,000 went missing from a home on the 100 block of Rudgear Road. A caller told police of a suspicion that an electrician might be involved. An investigation is under way.
