Walnut Creek police reports from Sept. 12 to Sept. 16, including the report of two watches not stolen.

Wednesday, September 12

To the driver of a silver car: Please put away your cell phone and pay attention when you are driving. You nearly hit a pedestrian on Duncan and North Main Street at 11:33 a.m.

Food fight. Some urban campers allegedly started a food fight at Civic Park this afternoon. The men agreed to part ways and stop throwing food, according to a Walnut Creek police report.

Suspicious rental van. A home on the 300 block of La Vista Road was burglarized sometime between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Jewelry and electronics were taken. A silver rental van was seen in the area at the time of the crime.

Thursday, September 13

Yes, again. A black BMX Diamondback bicycle was reported stolen from in front of the library sometime after 8:00 a.m.

3 in parking garage. Three vehicles were broken into at a parking garage on the 1200 block of Locust Street. A briefcase, computer case with chargers was reported stolen out of one of the cars.

Friday, September 14

Not a crime, and not very smart. A caller reported that a man was “yelling and flashing money” near Olympic and Locust Street at 6:19 p.m.

Oops. A caller reported that two females were in a store at Broadway Plaza and thought they had stolen two watches. The watches were found. No word on the apology.

Saturday, September 15

Possible witnesses? Did you see a Walnut Festival Parade participant hit by a bottle of water? Not cool!

Storage locker theft. Four thousand dollars worth of golf clubs was stolen from a storage locker on the 1600 block of Carmel Drive sometime in the past few days.

Sunday, September 16

The old iPhone. An iPhone 4S in a turquoise case was stolen at the Shadelands Art Center in the past 24 hours. Good advice on what to do if this ever happens to you is here.
