Creek Diva: Ice Man Cometh & A Mysterious Powder

Friday,  July 6

I know it’s been hot … but this isn’t a good idea! A man was seen “climbing into an ice machine” at 4 a.m. on the 1700 block of North Main Street. He was released from the hospital and a cab took him safely home. Note to self: Do not order ice downtown.

Road drama. Several cars were towed on Sharene Lane for being parked in a construction zone. Readers, how are you dealing with all the downtown paving issues? Big thumbs up for the new sidewalk on Newell Avenue!

New job, new desk and mysterious powder? A caller reported finding a suspicious bag of “white powder and razor blades” while moving into a new desk at a business on the 300 block of Lennon Lane. It was turned over for proper police destruction.

Parole warrant. A woman was arrested on a parole warrant for a robbery out of Texas, on routine traffic stop on the 1100 block of Locust Street this afternoon.

BB gun. Two young men were arrested after a witness reported them allegedly “shooting a BB gun” at cars on the 1300 block of N. Main Street at 9:58 p.m. They were both charged with resisting arrest and intimidation of a firearm in a public place (20170(A) PC).

Saturday, July 7

Bartender assault. A man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a bartender at Crogan’s at 12:11 a.m.

Smash 'n grab. A black Volkswagen Jetta was broken into via a smash ‘n grab on Terrebonne Drive. A black North Face backpack containing an IPod and paperwork was reported stolen.

Laptops, jewelry stolen. A home on the 100 block of Brandywine Way was broken into this afternoon. Two Apple laptops and jewelry was stolen. The suspects were described as a male and female, with tattoos, who fled in a red Nissan or Acura.

Sunday, July 8

Sober up. An intoxicated man was arrested on the 1200 block of Locust Street at 7:57a.m.

Golf burglary. $6,000 worth of golf clubs and bags was stolen from a parked car in a garage on the 200 block of Vallecito Lane overnight.

Heads up, Vanderslice Court residents. One of your neighbors reported two unknown subjects attempting to steal a catalytic converter at 5 a.m. Readers, there’s a lock to keep them safe.

Monday, July 9

Reckless. Hey, driver of a silver Honda Accord, please stop driving recklessly. You were seen illegally passing people at Treat and Bancroft at 9:18 a.m.

Windows smashed. Two vehicle windows were smashed sometime overnight on the 1500 block of Parkside Drive. Nothing was reported stolen from either car.

Tuesday, July 10

Drug peddling. Two men were allegedly asking customers of a business on the 1300 block of Locust Street if they wanted to buy drugs at 12:26 a.m. The men in question were arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance and furnishing.

Safety reminder. Not even a trunk is a safe place for valuables. A caller reported the theft of her Louis Vuitton purse with $1,000 cash in the trunk of her car that was parked on the 1600 block of North California Boulevard. 

Wednesday, July 11

Keyed. A Toyota Avalon sustained $1,700 worth of damages after an unknown person keyed the car at Broadway Plaza a few days ago.
