Tuesday, December 13
Big race aftermath. Some residents were not happy with the first annual Walnut Creek half-marathon and complained about traffic issues on Ygnacio Valley Road. One caller waited 50 minutes to cross one intersection. Readers, did you have any issues with the race?
Is this a record? An astounding 34 cars were cited, mostly for parking violations, on the 1600 block of Locust Street this morning.
Stolen bike. A silver Schwinn 21-speed Trailway mountain bike was stolen from the library downtown this afternoon. Use two locks to avoid having this happen.
Wednesday, December 14
Curbing DUI. A caller reported a woman hit the curb twice on Mount Diablo Boulevard and Locust Street at 11:50 a.m. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Ladies, please be aware of your purses. A woman had one stolen while shopping at Macy’s this afternoon.
Thursday, December 15
Stolen van. A white Ford 250 work van, license plate 5Y17473, was stolen from the 1000 block of Rudgear Road between the hours of 12:00p.m. and 12:50p.m. The rear window has plywood covering the left rear window.
Solicitor reports. Several calls reported that solicitors without permits were bothering residents, including Creek Diva who had a woman ring her doorbell at 8:30 p.m.
Grinch alert! Someone stole wrapped presents and keys from a business on the 1900 block of North Broadway.
Friday, December 16
Birthday greeting. A man was arrested shortly after midnight for allegedly driving under the influence, on his birthday no less! No matter what the occasion is, take a cab or have a designated driver.
Nomination for jerk of the year. A man was captured on video stealing a bag of toys that were collected for Toys for Tots on the 2900 block of North Main Street at 6:55 a.m. He took off in a dark SUV.
DUI checkpoint. There were two DUI related arrests at the DUI checkpoint at Lawrence Way this evening.
