Creek Diva: No Rifle, Battered Door & Softball in the Dark

Saturday, March 3

Arrested again. was arrested again inside of Dan’s Irish Sports Bar on charges of public intoxication.

Tax fraud. A man reported that his tax refund was deposited in a former employees' account after he received help in filing his tax return. Double-check your account numbers when filing, folks!

False alarm. A caller was concerned that they saw a man dressed all in beige kneeling down pointing what appeared to be a rifle on to I-680 at the Treat Boulevard exit. Police contacted the man, who did not have a weapon.

Missing cash. $500 cash went missing from a woman’s purse last night. The victim reported the possible name of the suspect to the police on the 1200 block of Arroyo Way at 4:50 p.m.

Ouch! An 81-year-old female took a spill while crossing the street in front of CU-Sushi on Locust Street this evening. Hope you feel better.

Sunday, March 4

Call a cab. Three DUI arrests and four public intoxication arrests downtown. Come on, people, if you are going to enjoy what downtown has to offer, take a cab or have a designated driver. Readers, do you have a favorite cabbie in town?

Turn it down or else! A neighbor on the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue kicked down a neighbor's door because “he was playing his music too loud” at 9:19a.m. The apartment manager was notified of the damage.

Lacrosse is not a crime. A caller phoned police about several kids playing lacrosse at Berean Christian High School on El Divisadero Avenue at 1:19p.m. The police contacted the kids and the coaches. No crime was committed, police reported.

Get off the roof! Some kids got into trouble after a caller reported seeing them on the roof of Walnut Creek Intermediate School this afternoon. The kids were released to their parents. Kids, if you are looking for a better view, try hiking the Open Space.

Endangerment. Questionable parenting award goes to a man who was arrested on DUI and child endangerment charges on Civic Drive at 8:40p. Children were in the car at the time of the arrest.

Monday, March 5

Wires cut. Once again the wires were cut at the Heather Farm softball fields. To the person who is doing this, knock it off! It’s almost Walnut Creek Adult Softball time. Creek Diva’s favorite team, The Swingers, plays on that field!

Truck stolen. A commercial grade white Ford F350 was stolen from the 3200 block of Hudson Avenue overnight. It has license plate 7N29251, police reported, and there are two distinct “Rheem” stickers on the back. Two removable magnets that read “Crange Heat and A/C” might be on the side doors.

Parking lot injury. A Broadway Plaza shopper accidentally injured a woman when her vehicle struck a pedestrian in the lower parking lot. The victim was transported to John Muir for injuries. Feel better soon!
