Creek Diva: Pillow Fight, Staunch Cabbies & Duckling Rescue

Walnut Creek police reports April 8 to April 11.

Sunday, April 8

Honest cabbie. A cab driver turned in a found wallet that was discovered a few days prior. If you lost a wallet recently, swing by the police station.

Oops! A man was trying to flag down a ride back to Hayward after he accidentally overslept on the last BART train.

Pillow fight gone wrong. A customer at Vice Ultra Lounge on Arroyo way allegedly threw cushions because he was upset. His girlfriend also said he was “punched in the face by bouncers.” The man had to be physically escorted out of the club by security.

Eww! To the jerk that puked in the back of a cab, then bailed on the 1800 block of Almond Avenue, call the driver. You owe him a cleaning fee.

Creek Diva loves these stories. A mama duck stood by while rescuers were able to free 10 of her ducklings, stuck in a storm drain on the 700 block of Bancroft Road this morning.

Monday, April 9

Phony ID? A 2012 black Cadillac Escalade was sold to a subject who used false identification and credit information on the 2300 block of N. Main Street. An investigation is underway.

Whip-it discovery. A caller reported finding whip cream chargers used as “whip-its” in the driveway on the 2800 block of Mitchell Drive this morning. They were properly disposed of.

Tuesday, April 10

School tagged. Creek Diva’s former elementary school, Walnut Acres, was vandalized overnight. An unknown subject “tagged” classroom B2.

Stray bullet. A Yoga Works employee found a bullet near the yoga studio. Police properly disposed of the bullet.

Disturbing texts. A mother of a 10-year-old female reported that the daughter received text messages that were “sexual in nature” while at a sleepover on Stratton Road. An investigation is underway.

Lock the door. An unlocked back door to a home on the 1200 block of Walden Road resulted in a burglary. Five electric basses, two electric guitars, a mountain bike and an iPad were stolen.

Wednesday, April 11

Fiery dumpster. A dumpster was reported on fire behind Kinder’s Meats and Deli on Ygnacio Valley Road at 6:13 a.m. Firefighters responded to the call.

Molotov cocktails. Police and fire investigators are asking for the publics help with finding out who was responsible for leaving two Molotov cocktails at Walden Park on Oak Road this morning. Molotov cocktails are improvised incendiary devices such as a bottle stuffed with gasoline, lit with a match. It's an insulting reference to Soviet foreign minister Vyacheslav Molotov; the Finnish partisans didn't think much of Soviet street-fighting tactics.

3 bikes. Three bicycles were locked and stolen from a balcony on the 100 block of Sharene Lane overnight. Creek Diva highly recommends using U-Locks when securing bicycles!

Burglary. Electronics and jewelry valued at $11,000 were reported stolen from a home on the 2000 block of Vanderslice Avenue, in the neighborhood of Murwood Elementary School, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
