Creek Diva: Police Chase, Bad Tint and An Abandoned Italian Motorcycle

Walnut Creek police reports from Nov. 16 to Nov. 19.

Wednesday, November 16

Jerky stolen. A man stole beef jerky and ice cream from 7-Eleven on South Main Street at 1:09 a.m. The subject fled on foot toward Newell Avenue and was not located.

Wallet found. Kudos to the citizen that turned over a lost wallet. Job well done.

Questions. A man received a ticket by the CHP for window tint and had some questions for the WCPD. Readers, here’s a great visual about what the California Window Tint Law allows and prohibits.

Double-lock our bicycles. A spike in bicycle-related thefts has been reported at Las Lomas High School and the downtown library. Creek Diva uses a U-Lock and a cable lock when locking her bike anywhere!

Thursday, November 17

A pricey find! An unreported stolen Ducati motorcycle was found on the second-floor parking lot at Broadway Plaza this early morning.

Smashing. Smash 'n grabs on the 3500 block of Tupelo Drive, which yield a loss of a construction laser and Diamond rebar cutter. Another break-in, to a Jeep Liberty on Perada Drive, with no reported loss. 

Mr. Peeper. A woman on the 1300 block of Creekside Drive reported a man from the building across was looking at her with binoculars. The caller said she would phone police again if she saw the man again.

Home burglary. A home burglary occurred on the 1800 block of Burl Hallow Court sometime between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 4:00p.m. Jewelry and an IPad were reported stolen.

Friday, November 18

Over the side. A caller reported seeing a vehicle in a ravine on Bales Drive at 3:38 a.m. A woman was arrested on charges of false identification and driving under the influence.

RIP, deer. Another dead deer was removed on Ygnacio Valley Road and La Casa Via Drive at 6:26 a.m.

Saturday, November 19

Explosion. A transformer blew up on Ygnacio Valley Road and San Carlos at 3:58 a.m. Several breakers were damaged. PG&E responded and repaired the damage.

Watches stolen. A watch shop at Palos Verdes Mall was burglarized. The front door was smashed; watches and cash were reported stolen.

Not a good idea. Three boys were warned by the police to not skateboard in the creek flood channel near Citrus Avenue this afternoon.

Evading police. A man was seen weaving in and out of lanes on Ygnacio Valley Road at 9:25 p.m. There was a short pursuit near Walnut Avenue, the man was charged with driving under the influence, evading police and assault with a deadly weapon after he crashed his car into a patrol car.
