Tuesday, July 3

Sticky business. A driver on Homestead Avenue reported that the road was “still sticky” after it had been recently slurry sealed. City workers re-routed the traffic cones.

Poisoning? A woman was seen on the sidewalk “foaming at the mouth” on the 1100 block of Alpine Avenue at 12:17 p.m. She was transported to a local hospital for possible alcohol poisoning.


Biking jerk. A white male in his thirties riding a bicycle on Mount Diablo and Mount Pisgah allegedly grabbed a woman’s breast at 4:54 p.m. The suspect was wearing a green shirt, cargo shorts and a khaki baseball hat.

Wednesday, July 4

Prescription fraud. A woman was arrested on the 700 block of Rosewood Drive on a felony Ramey warrant related to a prescription fraud that occurred in Walnut Creek.

Kudos, kind citizen! A credit card was found and turned into the police department after a citizen found it on the Iron Horse Trail.

Trespass. Three adults were arrested along with two juveniles that were cited for trespassing at a house on the 100 block of El Camino Corto at 4:49 p.m.

Fireworks. Numerous calls were reported all over Walnut Creek about fireworks being set off. Luckily no fires were reported.

Thursday, July 5

Interesting fashion choice. A man was kicked out of the Safeway on Bancroft Road wearing a jockstrap on the outside of his jeans at 2 a.m. He allegedly tried to steal a few items.

Yuck! A resident on the 3700 block of Arbolado Drive reported a smelly cooler near a mailbox. Turns out it was the neighbors' and contained spoiled seafood.

Big haul. A home on the 400 block of Fenway Drive was broken into while the resident was at work. A 2003 black Acura TL was reported stolen, along with four flat-screen televisions, coins, and cash.

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous".
