Boo you, Gru! There is some rather tacky graffiti around town lately. Yes, you “Class.” This week's award goes to “Gru” who tagged up an AT&T box on Carmel Drive. Graffiti noted in reports to the Walnut Creek Police Department.

Well traveled bike. A bicyclist was stopped on Olympic Boulevard at 3:38 p.m. The police determined the bicycle was reported missing out of Santa Barbara two years ago. Creek Diva hopes her sparkly green 1970s Schwinn 10-speed shows up one of these years; she was away at summer camp in Santa Cruz only to come home and find out she was bikeless.

Enjoy Shell Ridge? Do not leave any valuables in your vehicle when parking on Marshall Drive. A Land Rover was recently broken into. A laptop, clothes and tax returns were stolen.

Gun toter. on North Main Street.

Thursday, August 23

Lewd act. A man was arrested after he allegedly exposed himself to a student at Contra Costa Christian Academy.

Break-ins all over! Several callers reported their vehicles were broken into overnight, from Oakland Avenue, Creekside Drive, Camel Lane, Walden Road to Vanderslice Court.

Stolen bike. A cream and blue Lemond Versailles bicycle was stolen from an open garage on Bridle Court between the hours of midnight and 7:00 a.m.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
