Creek Diva: Unclaimed Bong in Open Space. 'Wow, Man … Wildflowers'

Walnut Creek police reports from April 4 to April 7.

Wednesday, April 4

Dogs running the streets. Two black longhaired dogs were seen all over downtown in the early morning hours. First near the Holiday Inn on North Main Street, then near Cherry Lane and Walden Road at 5:21 a.m. Hope the two pooches got home safely!

Home ransacked. A home on the 1200 block of Oakshire Court was burglarized sometime in the past 24 hours. A kicked-in front door was the point of entry. Watches, computer, TV, and a camera were reported stolen. 

Bizarre. An unknown subject used black spray paint to paint over license plates of cars on Running Springs Road.

Thursday, April 5

A painful break-in. An apartment was broken into on the 1200 block of Walker Lane sometime in the past few days. The home was ransacked and a drawer that pain medication was stored in rummaged through.

Stupid. This is going down for Stupid Crimes of 2012. A man was arrested for stealing a pair of sunglasses that were left on a neighbor’s porch.

Unlocked. A stainless steel and rose gold Rolex watch went missing from an unlocked locker at a pool on the 1700 block of Tice Valley Boulevard.

'Why there is violence and shootings.' A solicitor on Candleberry Lane became verbally violent stating “This is why there is violence and shootings” after a resident told him “no.” The solicitor was cited for soliciting without a permit.

Friday, April 6

Stolen car found. A 1990 green Honda Accord was stolen in front of an apartment complex on Newell Hill Place. It was found a few blocks away on Walker Avenue.

Talking and texting. A driver of a Honda SUV was cited after a caller reported the driver was “talking and texting” on Ygnacio Valley Road and Oak Grove at 8:39 p.m.

Fraud investigation. $36,000 in fraudulent contracts were reported by an employee for a business on the 1500 block of Broadway. An investigation is underway.

Bong. A ranger found a bong at the Hanna Grove picnic area in the Shell Ridge Open Space. If it’s yours, you can pick it up at the police station. Or you might want to let this one go ...

Pricy yoga pants. $500 worth of yoga pants was stolen from a store at Broadway plaza at 8 p.m. The suspect was described as a black female wearing an orange jacket.

Saturday, April 7

Wayward cow. A cow broke out of the open space and was seen wondering around Rockspring Place this morning. A rancher responded to the call.

Car-bike crash. A vehicle on South Broadway and Rudgear Road hit a bicyclist at 11:15 a.m. The cyclist was transported to John Muir Medical Center with minor injuries.

iPhone thief. He is the suspect of an iPhone theft that occurred at the Marriot on N. Main Street.
