Walnut Creek police reports from Sept. 26 to Sept. 30, including an allegedly intoxicated pilot for a golf cart at Rossmoor.

Wednesday, September 26

Heads up, Parkside Drive residents. Several vehicles were broken into overnight in your neighborhood. Reminder: lock up and take your valuables with you.

High school drug deal. A caller requested police presence on Hutchinson Drive due to “supposed drug dealing” behind Northgate High School. An 18-year-old male was arrested on narcotic charges at 3:12 p.m.


Busted at Broadway Plaza. A woman was arrested on charges of possession of a stolen credit card, forgery, identity theft, burglary, and probation violation at 5:48 p.m.

The Birds. Creek Diva 100 percent backs this caller complaint of a loud squawking bird on the 1400 block of Creekside Drive. Quiet your bird, please.

Thursday, September 27

Stolen smokes. Sixty cartons of cigarettes were stolen from a business on the 1200 block of Newell Avenue overnight.

Like sand thru the hourglass, Rossmoor edition. A caller reported a possible DUI golf cart driver in Rossmoor at 5:21 p.m. The driver wasn’t found, but a witness on the scene said that an “argument started after a couple was told by lifeguards to stop being inappropriate in the pool.”

Friday, September 28

Stolen guitar. Several cars were broken into on Eccleston Avenue overnight. An electric guitar was reported stolen.

You can leave your hat on. A resident on Golden Rain Road, Rossmoor, called police to seek advice about a neighbor who likes to “run around his front yard in the nude, sometimes wearing a hat.”

Saturday, September 29

Kudos — to the kind citizen who found a wallet on Newell Avenue this afternoon. The owner was able to pick up the wallet over the weekend. Job well done.

Van crash. A Heritage Point van crashed into a pole on Shuey Avenue at 3:19 p.m. Four people were transported to the hospital with injuries. Hope you are all feeling better.

Sunday, September 30

Intoxication & vandalism. A man was arrested on public intoxication and vandalism charges on Near Court at 8:42 p.m. He allegedly broke a window at an apartment complex.

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous".
