Creek Police Report: Parties, Thefts and Seniors Living in a Car

Some of the problems Walnut Creek dealt with during the past week.

Friday, June 24

Renter's woe: A woman reported that she was robbed of $750 cash and two checks from a locked room that she rents on a home on Encinal Drive.

Smash 'n' grab: A red Mini Cooper was broken into on Bont Lane, the front window was smashed and paperwork was taken.

Smash ‘n’ grab on video: A car was broken into on Northgate Road and Doncaster Drive between the hours of 5:30-8 a.m. A wallet containing $210 cash and multiple credit cards was stolen. Smile, thief, you were captured on video surveillance.

Gulp — busted: Parents left their underage son home alone and he was throwing parties “every night for over a week now.” When police showed up, 50 to 75 people were told to leave, pronto. Have fun cleaning that house on Sitka Court.

Saturday, June 25

Broken record: Saturday started with seven arrests on charges of public intoxication and driving while under the influence. Take a cab, folks! And thanks, WCPD, for keeping the roads safe.

Flying fool: A man “jumped off a roof” and landed on a woman’s car and did “major damage” to the hood as well as the driver's side door. The jumper was not found.

Burger and booze: A man was arrested on DUI charges at Jack in the Box at 3:03 p.m.

Be on the lookout: A bicycle worth $3,000 was locked and stolen from the bed of a truck on Marchbanks Drive. The bicycle is a “Blurrlt” model with “Fox” stickers. Let’s help this guy get his bike back!

Sunday, June 26

Pyramid Brewery pilferer: A woman left a jacket containing her wallet, keys and cell phone unattended on a chair and it was stolen about 1 a.m.

Drinkers duke it out: A fight occurred inside Redux on Locust Street at 1:16 a.m. Two men were arrested on charges of public drunkenness.

Have a heart: To the jerk who stole a girl's green and silver Schwinn bike off a porch on Homestead Avenue, shame on you. Bring the bike back.

Monday, June 27

Weekend heist: A home on the 1600 block of Cayucos Drive was broken into over the weekend. The resident found a blue latex glove on the floor and jewelry and cash were taken.

Seniors need aid: A concerned citizen phoned police after seeing a “very pale” elderly man near a car by Civic Park. The police contacted the couple, who are living in their car. Readers, let's get this couple some help. Any ideas?

Stabbing arrests: Two men were arrested in a stabbing at a car wash that Walnut Creek Patch covered. http://walnutcreek.patch.com/articles/two-stabbed-at-car-wash.

Tuesday, June 28

Men assaulted: Several hours after the car-wash stabbings, “two Hispanic males” assaulted two men as they exited their car. The subjects were seen fleeing toward the Iron Horse Trail.

Eyes are on you: A 1991 Honda Civic Hatchback, license plate 4SLN903, was stolen from the 200 block of Park Lake Circle.

Kiss your summer goodbye: A juvenile was arrested on charges of being in possession of cocaine, marijuana, tobacco products and alcohol. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall in Martinez.

Wednesday, June 29

Missing bling: An engagement ring went missing from a home on Londonderry Court on Monday. According to the owner, possible suspects are on the “Asbestos Abatement Company crew."

Stinky crime: Two boys in their “mid-teens” were seen fleeing a business on the 2900 block of N. Main with $75 worth of cigars and a lighter.

Our gratitude: A Michael Stead Cadillac employee returned a wallet that was returned to the owner.

Park at your own risk: There were several auto break-ins again from the parking garages on the 1200 block of Locust Street. Take your valuables with you, including your GPS units.

Thursday, June 30

Too late for a dip: Unseasonably warm evenings mean bizarre calls about late-night swimmers in the area. Creek Diva advises that if you live in an apartment complex you should know your pool hours. The police have better things to do than tell you to get out of the pool at 1 a.m.

Heads up, Newell Hill Place residents: Someone has been breaking into several cars lately. You know the drill, take your belongings with you. Yes, everything.

Stolen school bell: Someone phoned police after seeing a Craigslist and about a school bell for sale that might have been stolen from Walnut Creek 15 to 20 years ago. Creek Diva would love to crack this crime. Please email her if you know more about this.

Beware, folks: There have been various hit 'n' runs in the area lately. As Creek Diva said back in the busy holiday season, slow down, people. Take your time. That goes for all the Road Rage Drivers out there, too. Chill out!
