CreekDiva: Who Bugged Starbucks Towel Roll?

Walnut Creek police reports from Dec. 26 to Dec. 29.

Monday, December 26

Shhhh. A church band was told to turn down the volume at band practice on the 200 block of Walnut Boulevard at 1:32 a.m.

Say what? A solicitor was going door-to-door and yelling in the street on Overlook and Parkside Drive at noon. The caller stated the solicitor claimed he was “a victim of drive-by shootings” and asking to raise money to “prevent gangs.”

Laptops stolen. A home was broken into sometime since Dec. 22 on the 1600 block of Camino Verde. A rear window patio door was smashed and two laptops were taken.

Stolen bike. Heads up, Village Court residents, another bike went missing from your neighborhood. The lock was cut. Creek Diva recommends a “U-lock.”

Tuesday, December 27

Water main. Downtown came to a standstill after

Store burglaries. A clothing consignment store on Locust Street was burglarized overnight. The unknown suspect broke a window with a rock and stole a cash box. Only change was reported stolen. A deli on Newell Avenue reported a similar crime. Cash, a laptop and a Sony amplifier were stolen.

Tagging. Three juveniles were seen tagging on the Iron Horse Trail behind Safeway by a bicyclist at 5:43 p.m. One of the boys was arrested for being under the influence.

Wednesday, December 28

Car burglary. Two bags of ski clothing and a Lamar black snowboard were stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Sharene Lane overnight.

10G bike stolen. A very expensive tandem bicycle made out of bamboo and hemp, valued at $10,000, was stolen from a carport on 2900 block of Tice Creek Drive overnight.

Thursday, December 29

Stolen dune buggy. A silver and black Manco Powersports Dune Buggy, serial number 1041702, was stolen from the 2600 block of Bridle Lane sometime in the past week.

Testing 1-2-3. A recording device was found attached to a paper towel dispenser at Starbucks on Locust Street. The manager of the store took care of the issue.

Gym lockers rifled. Two gym lockers were broken into at 24-hour Fitness on North Main Street. Wallets containing cash and credit cards were stolen.
