Former Lesher Center Employee Sentenced To 90 Days For Sex-Related Crimes

Jason Pedroza may be able to serve his sentence under home detention

Former Lesher Center for The Arts employee Jason Pedroza was sentenced to 90 days in jail on Friday for sex-related crimes involving children.

The former actor and theater teacher may be allowed to serve the sentence under home detention and will have to register as a sex offender for life, according to a story in the Contra Costa Times.

Pedroza, 27, pleaded guilty in August to a felony count of using minors to engage in child pornography and a misdemeanor charge of child molestation in exchange for the 90-day sentence.

Four Walnut Creek city employees were investigated for the way they handled the Pedroza situation, but they were cleared of wrongdoing.

Those employees are now asking the city to reimburse them for legal fees.
