Hit-And-Run Driver Struck Cyclist on Mount Diablo Boulevard: Police

Cyclist suffered head injury, expected to make a full recovery; police look for witnesses to Monday afternoon incident.

Walnut Creek police are looking for a hit-and-run driver whose car struck a bicyclist Monday afternoon on Mount Diablo Boulevard, causing a head injury.

The cyclist is expected to make a full recovery, according to a press release by Sgt. Lanny Edwards.

The 4:18 p.m. accident involved a white female with dark hair pulled into a ponytail driving a light-colored SUV eastbound on Mount Diablo Boulevard. The SUV struck the bicycle, which was also going east on Mount Diablo Boulevard.

The SUV was last seen making a turn southbound onto Bont Lane, near the Highway 680 overpass.

The Walnut Creek Police Department is asking possible witnesses to call Officer Mike Adams at 943-5844.
