Lance - When I first read this story I wasn't sure if the photo was stock or specific to this incident. In future would it be possible to indicate whether a photo that accompanies a story is a generic stock photo or that the photo is specific to the story - including the source of the photo?

Jim: I'd be happy to do that. This information was already on the photo. When you click on the photo, the caption and credit become visible. In this case, they say this: "Closeup of chemicals inside a plastic soda bottle bomb found in a Lafayette front yard." Credit Lafayette Police Department And thanks, Don, for some perspective on this.

These devices are usually used to blow up mailboxes and trashcans. Just to keep the perspective on this. Drano/Muriatic acid is definitely not fun or harmless so yes if this is a prank gone wrong the perp should get some a proper punishment. Knowing when Patch uses a stock photo or not would be helpful as it is not uncommon to see them use stock and it leads to confusion.
