Local BART Stations Are Bike-Theft Leaders
California Watch investigation finds Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill stations have most bicycle heists.

The Walnut Creek BART station and, one stop away, Pleasant Hill BART are the tops in bicycle thefts in the BART system, according to a California Watch analysis of crime data.
From 2006 through October 2011, the two stations accounted for more than 430 thefts of bicycles or bicycle parts, nearly 17 percent of the thefts in the entire system.
The downtown Concord station came in at eighth place, with 122 reported bike thefts.
