At about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, a CHP airplane on a routine patrol
spotted the motorcyclist, later identified as 23-year-old Corey McDonah,
traveling on westbound Interstate Highway 80 and followed him as he merged
onto eastbound Interstate Highway 580, CHP Officer Sean Wilkenfeld said.
McDonah, a San Leandro resident, was seen speeding, popping
wheelies and performing other stunts, Wilkenfeld said.
The CHP aircraft overhead kept pace with the motorcyclist until he
arrived at his house, where he got off his motorcycle and went inside,
according to Wilkenfeld.
CHP officers on the ground arrived at the residence and made
contact with McDonah when he answered the door.
Officers arrested McDonah for reckless driving and booked him into
jail, Wilkenfeld said.
