One Dies In Car Crash on Treat Boulevard

Car struck pole at 6:30 a.m. Saturday on Cherry Lane at Treat.

One woman died as a result of a Nissan sedan crashing into a pole car in unincorporated Walnut Creek at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim was a 44-year-old Walnut Creek woman, CHP reported, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Witness reports to the CHP indicated that a Nissan struck a pole at about 6:30 a.m. on Cherry Lane at Treat Boulevard, in an unincorporated area between Walnut Creek and Concord.

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to the scene. An unconscious person was extricated from the car wreck, a fire dispatcher said.

A person associated with the vehicle died after the crash, according to the CHP.
