Update: Paraglider Killed Near Lime Ridge Sunday Identified

Victim was paragliding in the Lime Ridge area

The man who died Sunday while paragliding near Lime Ridge Open Space has been identified as 53-year-old Edward Simone, according to the Coroner's Office. 

Contra Costa County Fire District officials said they were notified at 5:54 p.m. about the accident.

According to the Contra Costa Times, Simone was paragliding with friends when something caused a disruption in his flight, he hit a steep grade and rolled down the hill. He died later at John Muir Medical Center.
