Pedestrian Struck in Unincorporated Walnut Creek Suffered Major Injuries

The collision occurred in the area of Treat Boulevard and Jones Road.

A pedestrian was struck by a car and suffered major injuries in unincorporated Walnut Creek this morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said. The collision was reported at 6:39 a.m. near Treat Boulevard and Jones Road, located just southeast of the Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre BART station.
 
A 2010 Mazda struck the pedestrian, who was taken to John Muir Medical Center to be treated for the major injuries, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said. The scene of the collision has since been cleared, Anderson said at about 7:40 a.m.
