Cathy -- It's just for regional and state issues. Some of the smaller sites (I'm managing Scotts Valley now as well) don't have as many folks participating and getting to interact with people from other communities gives more to talk about. Plus it can be interesting to get outside opinions. .... And you can still find lots of local, Watsonville-only stories on the site.

The conversation on the big issues is too much to keep track of, but I do enjoy the conversations that spur from the smaller regional issues that cover a few cities or so.
