Police Have Sketch In Kidnap, Attempted Rape

Police say a 30-year-old Hispanic male last week kidnapped a woman in Pleasant Hill and drove her to Martinez, where she managed to escape.

Pleasant Hill and Martinez police are seeking a man who kidnapped a woman from the parking lot of the Pleasant Hill Shopping Center Saturday night, drove her to Martinez and attempted to sexually assault her.

According to Pleasant Hill Police Lt. Dan Connelly, a woman was getting into her car in the shopping center around 10 a.m. on May 27 when a man police describe as a Hispanic male, about 30 years old, 5’9”, about 180-200 pounds, with a medium build, dark eyes and a mustache, confronted the woman. After pulling a knife, he forced the woman to drive him to an area near Marina Vista in Martinez, where he then attempted to rape her.

The woman resisted and was able to get away, police said. Her attacker drove away in her car. The woman was not hurt, police said.
