Police Look Into Possibility of Shots Fired After Bar Closing

Investigators trying to confirm shots were fired in the east county at a carload coming from the fight outside Vice Ultra Lounge in Walnut Creek Sunday morning.

Police are investigating the aftermath of Sunday's closing-time brawl outside the Vice Ultra Lounge, including a report that a carload of people coming from the lounge was shot at.

. Some people have called police to say it was as many as 75, said Walnut Creek Police Sgt. Steve Gorski Monday, but police think the higher number is an over-estimation.

"We also received information from a police department in East Contra Costa County that a vehicle containing a carload of subjects that had come from Vice was shot at several times," wrote Gorski in an email. "We have no information that this shooting occurred in Walnut Creek but we would encourage anyone that saw an altercation along on the roadway between 1:45 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning to contact us or the local jurisdiction where they saw the activity (i.e. if they saw something on the freeway call the CHP)."

Gorski did not specify which department in the east county.

In the fight, police said, 21-year-old Steven Enriquez-Wyatt of Bay Point had multiple lacerations on his arms. Police said witnesses told them that Enriquez-Wyatt had assaulted a woman, who wanted to place Enriquez-Wyatt under citizens arrest for assault.
