Police: Warrants Help Search for Missing Teen

Search warrants develop investigative leads; Larissa Huntsman, 16, a Las Lomas High student, has been missing since Aug. 24.

The Walnut Creek police continue the search for 16-year-old Larissa Huntsman despite some obstacles.

The Las Lomas High student was last seen leaving the high school campus on Aug. 24.

WCPD issued an alert Tuesday saying that detectives have followed up leads from the public and connected with national missing children databases and resources.

Also, police have executed search warrants to try to understand Huntsman's whereabouts:

  • a search on the cellphone of "the juvenile's uncooperative, biological, non-custodial mother … examining historical information from the phone." The mother, Laura Huntsman, lives in Walnut Creek.
  • a search of an Oakland residence of an uncle (also uncooperative, police said) of the juvenile, living in a house owned by Huntsman's maternal grandparents. "Detectives found investigative leads," the alert stated.

Huntsman has a medical condition that requires her to take medication daily, and police believe she is not now taking the medication.

If you have information about Larissa Huntsman, you are asked to call WCPD at (925) 943-5844.
