Two Burglaries, One Robbery At Palos Verdes Mall Within 24 Hours

Same suspect in both burglaries; different suspect in armed robbery

Two restaurants in Palos Verdes Mall had their windows smashed and cash registers stolen while a yogurt shop was held up by an armed robber on Saturday.

The robbery happened about 6 p.m. at Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt.

A white man in his 20s armed with handgun entered the store and demanded money from the clerks, according to Walnut Creek Police Lt. Jay Hill.

He got away with a small amount of cash.

The robber is described as about 5-9 and 160 pounds. He was wearing a sweatshirt, dark pants and a baseball cap.

Both burglaries happened between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.

In both cases, the suspect broke the front windows of the restaurants and took a cash register, said Hill.

The two restaurants are Chopin Cafe and Do Sit Thai Cuisine.

Authorities believe the same suspect committed both burglaries. The robbery was done by a different suspect, Hill said.
