Walnut Creek Crash Victim Identified

An 84-year-old man who died after his car was broadsided by another vehicle at a Walnut Creek intersection on Saturday afternoon has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner's office as Arthur Greene.

Greene, a Walnut Creek resident, was driving a Toyota Prius when the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Trinity Avenue andNorth California Boulevard.

Greene was heading east when his Prius was struck by a Dodge Durango, Walnut Creek police said.

He was taken to John Muir Medical Center, where he died.

Police said it does not appear drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident, but the circumstances remain under investigation.
