Three were arrested in Saturday incident downtown with attempted flight in a vehicle.

Walnut Creek police continue to investigate a Saturday evening incident in which $5,000 worth of methamphetamine was allegedly found in a vehicle and three suspects arrested.

According to a police news release, two Walnut Creek police officers were on foot patrol Saturday evening on Locust Street.  One officer noticed two subjects in a parked car south of the Lift Lounge and Grill and “almost immediately observed a large amount of suspected narcotics in the vehicle.” The driver of the vehicle at first complied with the officers, but then attempted to flee the parking lot, almost hitting one of the officers while backing up, police said.

Both officers “pointed their firearms at the vehicle” and were able to arrest both subjects. A third vehicle was found nearby, which also yield a third arrest.
