Walnut Creek Police Log: Assault Arrests, Public Drunkenness, Stolen Christmas Trees

Some of the incidents that kept Walnut Creek police officers busy this past week

Some of the items on the Walnut Creek Police Department logs from Nov. 22 to Nov. 26.

Friday, Nov. 22

Public drunkenness: A 22-year-old woman was arrested for public drunkenness at 1:42 a.m. after she was seen banging on the door of a silver Toyota at the corner in the 2700 block of Velvet Way.

Stolen car: Police were notified at 7:31 a.m. that a red Honda was stolen overnight in the 400 block of North Civic Drive.

Burglary suspects arrested: A 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were arrested in Broadway Plaza at 11:16 a.m. on suspicion of burglary.

Drunkenness arrest: A 59-year-old man was arrested at Broadway Plaza at 6:12 p.m. for public drunkenness after patrons said he laying on a bench and yelling at people as they walked by.

DUI arrest: A 37-year-old man was arrested at 9 p.m. for driving under the influence after his car was stopped at Ygnacio Valley Road and Oak Grove Road.

Auto burglary: Police were notified at 9:46 p.m. that a window had been smashed on a gold GMC Sierra truck parked at Broadway Plaza and $3,000 worth of plumbing equipment had been stolen.

Saturday, Nov. 23

Public drunkenness: A 42-year-old man was arrested for public drunkenness at 12:24 a.m. in the 1300 block of Locust Street.

Assault arrest: A 22-year-old man was arrested for assault at 12:48 a.m. in the 1300 block of Main Street.

DUI arrest: A 50-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence at 1:16 a.m. after his car was stopped in the 2100 block of North Main Street.

More drunkenness: A 26-year-old man was arrested for public drunkenness at 1:38 a.m. in the 1300 block of Locust Street.

And more drunkenness: Another 26-year-old man was arrested at 1:55 a.m. for public drunkenness near Parkside Drive and North Main Street.

Assault arrest: A 39-year-old man was arrested for assault at 12:53 p.m. in the 100 block of Near Court.

Auto burglary: Police were notified at 7:32 p.m. that a window had been smashed on a vehicle parked in the 2700 block of North Main Street and a backpack with movies had been stolen.

Sunday, Nov. 24

Another assault arrest: A 38-year-old woman was arrested for assault at 12:34 a.m. in the 1300 block of Locust Street.

Drunk in public: A 24-year-old man was arrested at 1:56 a.m. for public drunkenness after witnesses said they saw him tampering with gas pumps in the 1700 block of Mt. Diablo Boulevard.

Store burglary: Police were notified at 3:01 a.m. that two suspects had pried open the door at a store in Palos Verdes Mall and stole lottery tickets, cash and cigarettes.

Christmas tree theft: Police were notified at 12:17 p.m. that three small Christmas trees with decorations had been stolen in the 1300 block of North Main Street.

Theft from truck: Police were informed at 3:04 p.m. that a winch and an air blower chained inside the bed of a truck in the 1700 block of Botelho Drive had been stolen after someone cut the padlock.

Auto theft: Officers were informed at 3:27 p.m. that a 1988 white Toyota pick-up truck had been stolen from a parking lot in the 300 block of North Civic Drive.

DUI arrest: A 28-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence at 9:40 p.m. after his car was stopped near Sunne Lane and Harvey Drive.

Drunk in public: A 26-year-old man was arrested at 11:46 p.m. for public intoxication at Bonanza Street and Locust Street.

Monday, Nov. 25

Auto burglary: Police were notified at 12:46 p.m. that a Fastrak item and a duffle bag were stolen from a green Acura in the 2700 block of Oak Road.

Ice rink bike: Police were informed at 12:57 p.m. that a black BMX-style bicycle was stolen from the ice rink on Civic Drive.

Two bikes stolen: Officers were notified at 5:14 p.m. that two "specialized" bicycles had been stolen from a back porch in the 1700 block of Pomar Way.

Auto burglary: Police were informed at 11 p.m. that a window had been smashed on a gray Honda in the 1200 block of South Main Street and a black bag and Dell laptop computer had been stolen.

Tuesday, Nov. 26

Jewelry stolen: Police were notified at 1:39 p.m. that $17,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen within the past eight months from a safe deposit box in the 1700 block of Tice Valley Boulevard.

Grab and run: Officers were informed at 5:12 p.m. that a suspect had grabbed jeans from a store in Broadway Plaza and run off. The suspect got into a white sedan and driven away.
