Walnut Creek Police Log: Birthday DUI, Fighting Roommates, Auto Burglaries

Some of the incidents that kept Walnut Creek police busy during part of last week

Here are some of the items on the Walnut Creek Police Department log from Jan. 11 to Jan. 15.

Saturday, Jan. 11

Reckless driving: Police were notified at 4:13 p.m. about a reckless motorist who was driving on the shoulder of the road and cutting off cars near Ygnacio Valley Road and Oak Grove Road. Officers were unable to locate the driver.

Loud party: Officers were dispatched at 11:35 p.m. to the 300 block of Drayton Court for reports of a loud party. The party goers were located and they were told to shut off their music.

Sunday, Jan. 12

Public drunkenness: A 22-year-old man was arrested at 1:54 a.m. for public drunkenness after being spotted walking in the middle of the street at Mt. Diablo Boulevard and Boulevard Way.

Birthday DUI arrest: A man was arrested at 2:28 a.m. on his 28th birthday for driving under the influence after he drove into a fire hydrant in the 1900 block of Weaver Lane, sending water cascading into the air.

Car theft: Officer were notified at 6:03 a.m. that a 1998 light blue Honda Accord had been stolen overnight from the 2700 block of Oak Road.

Drunk football fans: A 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested at 2:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of North California Boulevard after someone reported that had been attacked by a man wearing a 49ers jersey and a woman wearing a Raiders jersey.

DUI arrest: A 31-year-old man was arrested at 5:08 p.m. for driving under the influence at San Luis Road and Warren Lane.

Roommates arrested: A 45-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were arrested at 11:49 p.m. for assault in the 1700 block of Botelho Drive after they got into a fight when the woman threw the man's keys and phone out a window.

Monday, Jan. 13

Car burglary: Police were notified at 8:20 a.m. that a blue Toyota had been burglarized in the 1100 block of Flowerwood Place. The thief smashed a window and stole two computers and an iPad.

Car buyers arrested: A 53-year-old man and a 25-year-old man were arrested at 2:27 p.m. after officers were notified they were trying to purchase a car at North State Auto with false identification.

Public drunkenness: A 24-year-old man was arrested at 8:14 p.m. for public drunkenness near a liquor store in the 1200 block of Newell Avenue.

Tuesday, Jan. 14

Vehicle burglary: Officers were informed at 11:35 a.m. that a white Ford F150 truck had been burglarized overnight in the 300 block of North Civic Drive. Stolen were tools, power tools and a sump pump.

Auto burglary: Police were notified at 8:08 p.m. that a white Mercedes had been burglarized in the 1800 block of Olympic Boulevard. The thief smashed a window and stole a briefcase.

Wednesday, Jan. 15

Vehicle theft: Officers were informed at 5:37 a.m. that a 2006 white Ford F250 truck with a full toolbox had been stolen overnight from the 1800 block of San Miguel Drive.

Copper theft: Police were informed at 1:12 p.m. that 20 to 30 feet of copper wire and two spools of copper had been stolen from a building in the 1700 block of Shuey Avenue.
