WC Woman Accused of Preying on Elderly People

Dayna Drew faces charges of possession of stolen property and identity theft from a Moraga senior under her care.

Alerted by Target store security, Walnut Creek police arrested a 43-year-old Walnut Creek woman Saturday and said they are investigating her for potential theft from elderly people while acting as a caretaker.

The following account comes from a Walnut Creek Police Department alert:

While they were at the Target on North Main Street Saturday afternoon, police determined that Dayna Drew, 43, of Walnut Creek, was on probation for theft from a dependent adult while acting as a caretaker. Drew was trying to make purchases with a credit card recently stolen from a purse in an Alamo grocery store. Drew faces charges of possession of stolen property, theft/use of access card, identity theft and violation of probation.

Drew was with Carmelia Hamilton, who was also arrested when police determined she had a warrant for her arrest.

Officers searched Drew's home and found financial information stolen from an elderly subject she cares for in Moraga. Her probation states that she is not to act as a caretaker. If you know of a dependent adult for whom Drew is acting as a caretaker, police request that you contact WCPD at (925) 943-5844 or your local police department.

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
